English Language Arts (ELA) is a broad subject area covering many different topics. It’s mainly meant to help students improve their English-language reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

Each state, including New York, has its own standards for ELA that students are expected to meet. These vary depending on a student’s grade level, disabilities, understanding of English and other factors. You can read more about New York’s standards here.

Even when schools take a student’s personal circumstances or challenges into consideration, it may not be enough to effectively teach them what they need to learn. Classroom teachers often can’t devote a significant amount of time to an individual student to ensure that they’re receiving lessons in a way they can truly understand. 

At Bezman Wess, we offer ELA tutoring for students that we believe will seriously improve their grades and help them learn to enjoy the process of learning, even if English is a consistently challenging language for them. 

With our experience teaching students of every grade level both in a classroom setting and in 1-on-1 tutoring sessions, we believe we have the skills and experience to understand each student’s personal challenges, help them understand what they’ve been taught in class, and apply those lessons to get much higher grades on assignments and tests.
